Sandra Castillo mainly handles intellectual property law matters, with emphasis on trademarks and copyrights. Ms. Castillo obtained an LL.M in Intellectual Property in the United States after being granted a Firm scholarship for graduate legal studies. She also participated in the Associate Training Program of the Intellectual Property Practice Group of Baker McKenzie in Chicago.
Ms. Castillo focuses her practice on trademark matters. She routinely represents clients in administrative procedures before the Colombian Trademark Office. She also handles searches and reports of former registrations and actions regarding the ceasing of the use of registered trademarks. Additionally, Ms. Castillo represents clients in actions involving the ceasing of use of registered trademarks and in the registration of domain names at a national and international level. She also assists in the resolution of domain name disputes, provides copyright advisory and leads the coordination of international trademark portfolios of local and multinational consumer products. Ms. Castillo has also actively advised multinational companies in the hi-tech, pharmaceutical, insurance, retail, financial industries, in information technology and data privacy matters.
