Biography

David is an associate in the Dispute Resolution team based in London. David advises on a wide range of international arbitration and commercial litigation matters, and is a member of the Firm's International Arbitration Practice Group and the LCIA Young International Arbitration Group. David has previously spent time in Baker McKenzie's Dispute Resolution department in Sydney, as well as four months seconded to a client of the Public Law Group within the Dispute Resolution practice.

Practice Focus

David advises on a wide range of international arbitration under various institutional rules and commercial litigation. David also has experience of investigations, public and administrative law, and product liability.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Acted for multinational organisations in the shipping industry in an ICC arbitration seated in London defending a claim for unfair prejudice and breach of notice provisions in relation to a share issue.

  • Acted for an airport ground-handling service provider in a LCIA arbitration seated in London on a business-critical contractual dispute with a major European low-cost carrier.

  • Acted for a private equity management firm and connected companies in two parallel LCIA arbitrations seated in London (with related proceedings in the Commercial Court) in relation to a series of contractual disputes. 

  • Acting for a multinational organisation providing integrated air and ground transportation services in a DIFC-LCIA arbitration seated in Dubai. 

  • Acting for a State financial institution in relation to disputes arising out of the statutory acquisition and subsequent assignment of a loan agreement. 

  • Acted for a co-founding partner of a leading global household and business telecommunications application software on a breach of contract claim.

  • Advised a multinational events management company investigating allegations of bribery and corruption in relation to the sale and acquisition of broadcasting rights.

  • Advised a global manufacturing and technology company on a product recall in 36 jurisdictions.

  • Advised the BBC Trust (including a client secondment to the Trust) on a range of regulatory and public law matters, including editorial and television licensing complaints
