Biography

Mateusz Baszczyk is an associate in Baker McKenzie's Warsaw office. He is admitted to the Warsaw Bar of Legal Advisors and also holds a PhD degree in law. Mateusz is an author of various publications in professional magazines (Przegląd Prawa Handlowego, Monitor Prawniczy).

Mateusz advises clients on matters relating to M&A transactions, reorganizations and day-to-day corporate maintenance and commercial contracts. Before joining Baker McKenzie, Mateusz worked for leading international law firms.

Practice Focus

Mateusz focuses his practice on M&A (representing both on the buyer and seller sides), particularly in retail, manufacturing, energy, food and healthcare sectors. He has successfully participated in complex domestic and cross-border transactions, including some of the largest M&A transactions in Poland. He also advises on reorganizations (both domestic and global ones), day-to-day corporate maintenance and commercial contracts (both drafting and negotiating).

  • Advising shareholders on the sale of a Polish alcohol distributor to the Polish private equity fund.
  • Advising a Saudi dairy company on the purchase of a dairy manufacturer in Poland.
  • Advising shareholders on the sale of a logistics company to the private equity fund.
  • Advising one of the largest firm headquartered the US on its global reorganization including assets located in Poland.
  • Advising a leading packaging company headquartered in the UK on its reorganization in Poland.
  • Advising a leading cast iron manufacturer on the sale of its assets in Poland.
  • Advised a Poland-based private equity fund on the sale of leading satellite services group with operating entities in Poland and Germany.
