Marcos Basso, Foreign Legal Consultant, is a partner in the Firm’s International Commercial Practice Group. He has 25+ years of experience advising domestic and non-US companies on expanding their business globally, with an emphasis on complex cross-border transactions. Marcos has closed transactions for companies around the world in a wide variety of industries. Marcos previously practiced in each of the Firm’s offices in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Caracas (Venezuela) and Dallas. In addition to English, Marcos speaks Spanish fluently.

Practice Focus

Marcos focuses on the structuring, negotiation and implementation of cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, international investments and global corporate reorganizations on a wide range of product and service sectors, in particular, in the energy, technology, health care and defense industries. He routinely advises clients on the structuring of their international operations and the negotiation of complex international commercial agreements and arrangements. Marcos provides clients with strategic advice on global expansion matters, country-entry strategy, foreign direct investment and has particular experience in the coordination of complex multijurisdictional transactions. Mr. Basso has significant experience assisting companies on energy transition matters and investments and international government tender processes.
