Nicholas Alman is a member of Baker McKenzie’s Tax Practice Group in Washington, DC. Prior to joining the Firm, Nicholas was heavily involved with multinational energy companies. He practiced tax controversy and planning for domestic and cross-border transactions involving corporations, partnerships, joint ventures, and private equity. He was also on the Managing Board of the Virginia Tax Review and clerked for the Honorable Alan G. Lance, Sr. at the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. Before becoming a lawyer, Nick served as a combat parachute infantryman in the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division.
Nick is driven to resolve tax problems as thoroughly and efficiently as possible. He routinely advises and represents multinational companies involved in complex international and federal tax matters. His practice covers all facets of the tax dispute resolution process, including audits, appeals, and litigation. Nick also handles domestic and international tax planning and assists clients with global tax optimization.
