Sofía Aguirre is an associate in the International Commercial practice group in Mexico City office, beginning her career at the Firm in 2018. She regularly focuses on general corporate law, corporate maintenance, commercial transactions and diverse kinds of contracts. She also works with transportation industry clients on transactional, public policy and regulatory matters.

Practice Focus

Sofía's practice is focused on general corporate matters, as well as on legal opinions regarding the enforceability of agreements in Mexico, including agreements executed abroad with Mexican parties or with legal effects in Mexico, the effects of damages in Mexico, mitigation of risks and actions. Sofía is experienced in advising on the day-to-day operations of companies, including domestic and foreign airlines, airport operators and technology companies and drone/unmanned aircraft system stakeholders.

  • Advised foreign companies (Japanese, Italian, German) in the incorporation of their Mexican entities and in the process of compliance with their obligations under Mexican law.

  • Advised foreign airlines on starting operations in Mexico, day-to-day operations, contracting with airports, commercial and regulatory issues involved in the industry, as well as government relations.
