Elizabeth Harker, Pensions Associate from leading global law firm Baker McKenzie, has been recognized by the International Pensions and Employee Benefits Law Association, winning the “IPEBLA 2022 Young Practitioner of the Year” award. London-based Elizabeth was commended by the IPEBLA steering committee for her “interest in comparative pension issues” which “goes to the heart of IPEBLA’s mission”. Elizabeth, along with members of the London Pensions ESG working group, recently published an article in the IPEBLA annual journal,  providing a high-level comparative analysis of the extent to which the law in the UK, the US, the Netherlands, Australia and Canada currently promotes, or even permits, pension schemes to account for ESG factors by way of investment, stewardship and reporting.

Arron Slocombe, Head of Baker McKenzie's London Pensions department, commented:

“For Elizabeth to be internationally recognized in year 1 is a testament to the fantastic work that she is doing. Elizabeth continues to challenge and develop her skillset, which is clearly shown in what was a timely and well written article - something that stood out from the crowd with its quality of content.”
