Baker McKenzie and its member firm won four awards at the Asian Legal Business Southeast Asia Law Awards held on 25 May 2022. The Firm took home two Firm Awards - "Labour & Employment Law Firm of the Year" and "Tax and Trusts Law Firm of the Year", the latter being the fifth time we have been recognized by the industry in this category.
In addition, the Government of Indonesia’s triple tranche global Green Sukuk offering was awarded "Debt Market Deal of the Year (Premium)", where Indonesia member firm HHP Law Firm had acted on. This issuance made in June 2021, had the distinction of being the first Green 30-year Sukuk issued globally, and was the fourth global Green Sukuk issued under the Republic of Indonesia's Green Bond and Sukuk Framework.
The cross-border special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) listing of Grab on the NASDAQ also won "Equity Market Deal of the Year (Premium)" where a multijurisdiction, cross-practice team had acted as international counsel for Altimeter Growth Capital on its merger and IPO with Grab Holdings.
