For the twelfth year in a row, Baker McKenzie has been named WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality.

Baker McKenzie's National Managing Partner, Anthony Foley stated: "I am pleased to report that we are making real progress on our targets and throughout the pandemic we remained steadfast in our commitment to gender equality."

In citing these goals, Anthony commented: “Our Australian offices remain deeply committed to achieving the Firm's global gender targets set at 40:40:20 to represent 40% women, 40% men and 20% flexible (women, men or non-binary persons). These targets apply to partners, senior business professionals, the Firm's committee leadership and candidate pools for recruitment by 1 July 2025."

WGEA Director, Mary Wooldridge stated: “Each year, we accept applications for our WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation from those employers who are raising the bar when it comes to driving change, creating the circumstances that allow all people, regardless of their gender, to thrive.

“After passing through our evidence-based benchmarking evaluations, our EOCGE citation holders are officially recognised as some of the best employers in Australia who are committed and dedicated to action in achieving gender equality."

The Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation is a voluntary leading-practice recognition program designed to encourage, recognise and promote organisations' active commitment to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces.
