Global law firm Baker McKenzie is pleased to announce that Partner Stephanie Vaccari has been named Managing Partner of the Year at the 2022 Canadian Law Awards.

The awards are based on a rigorous, expert-informed process following the receipt of hundreds of nominations from firms and legal departments across Canada. The Canadian Law Awards editorial and research teams reviewed all submissions and consulted third-party information to identify each category’s standouts. The winners of each category were announced last night at the Canadian Law Awards event at Arcadian Court in Toronto.

Stephanie became the first female Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie's Toronto office in 2019. She also leads the office's Industrial Design and Transactional IP team and co-leads its IP Portfolio Management and Trademark Enforcement teams. She serves as co-lead of the Toronto Consumer Goods and Retail Group and is spearheading the Toronto office's Luxury and Fashion Group. Ten years ago, Stephanie co-developed the Toronto office's Women's Networking Group: BakerWomen Toronto, which she continues to co-lead today. BakerWomen was designed to provide the opportunity for women to network and discuss issues important to them with their peers. It also provides a safe environment for young associates to become more comfortable networking and to enhance their skills. BakerWomen has been extremely successful and a similar concept has been adopted in a number of offices across the Firm. With a practice focusing on trademark-related matters, Stephanie has extensive experience assisting global clients with worldwide trademark portfolios and representation in opposition and cancellation proceedings. She also has experience in transactional IP and has participated in a variety of complex lawsuits dealing with, among others, trademark and copyright infringement, patent infringement and validity, Internet and domain name issues, licensing, unfair competition and passing off.
