Chambers Global has released its 2022 guide, ranking Baker McKenzie in 317 practice areas and in 397 lawyer categories.

Baker McKenzie improved performance this year with more than 16 new practice rankings, in areas including Mergers & Acquisitions, Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Dispute Resolution, Employment & Compensation, Tax and Projects. The Firm’s Global International Trade & Commercial Practice also moved from Band 4 in 2021 to Band 3 in 2022, while its Banking & Finance Practice moved from Band 3 to Band 2.

The Firm also maintained eight global-wide practice area Band 1 rankings for Climate Change, Franchising, Outsourcing, Employee Benefits, Employment, Intellectual Property, Tax and Technology, Media and Telecommunications. 

Baker McKenzie’s lawyer rankings tally increased from 386 in 2021 to 397 in 2022. The Firm recorded 57 new rankings and 34 improved rankings.

Chambers Global is the leading international legal directory covering over 200 jurisdictions throughout the world. Rankings are based on interviews with clients and peers as well as firm submissions.

Practices and individuals earning a Band 1 ranking are noted by the guide for achieving the highest "technical legal ability, client service, commercial vision and business understanding, diligence, value for money, depth of team, and other qualities most valued by the client."
