Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie has hired Lionel Van Reet, a former partner in the customs & international trade practice at a global consulting firm. Lionel joins Baker McKenzie's Tax practice and will be based in Brussels.
With over 20 years in practice advising clients on trade and customs related matters, Lionel’s experience includes advising national and international companies from both the private and the public sectors. Lionel has a wealth of expertise in solving complex customs matters and is well regarded for his practice. His business audience includes the Automotive, Chemical and Petrochemical industries, Transport & Logistics as well as Retail and Manufacturing. He also assists customs authorities in the EU in relation to various customs matters.
Lionel is an important strategic hire with a focus and strong experience in cross-border customs matters, which will significantly expand the Firm's capabilities in this space.
