Baker McKenzie acted as legal advisor to Norwegian company Håndverksgruppen in connection with the acquisitions of the seven Swedish surface treatment companies Magnus Johansson & Son Måleri, Paintab Måleri, Hagman & Hübinette, Borås Murningsarbeten, Metodgolv i Stockholm, S2 Måleri and BBM i Uppsala.
Håndverksgruppen, headquartered in Oslo, is the largest surface treatment provider in the Nordics. The company aims to professionalize the industry by focusing on sustainability, working life and professional quality throughout the Nordic region. Håndverksgruppen has an aggregate turnover of in excess of NOK 3 billion (based on 2021 figures), as well as almost 2,000 employees and companies all over Norway and in parts of Sweden. The seven acquired companies are all active in Håndverksgruppen's priority business areas; painting, flooring, masonry and tiling.
