Four Baker McKenzie member firms in Southeast Asia have been recognised in this year's inaugural Legal 500 Southeast Asia Awards 2020/2021, which was announced during a virtual ceremony on 25 November 2021. The awards won by the member firms include:

  • HHP Law Firm took home "Law Firm of the Year: Indonesia";
  • Quisumbing Torres won "Law Firm of the Year: Philippines";
  • Baker McKenzie Vietnam was highly commended in two categories, namely "Construction and Real Estate Team of the Year" and "Labour and Employment Team of the Year"; and
  • Baker McKenzie Thailand was also highly commended for the "Labour and Employment Team of the Year"

Commenting on these awards, Baker McKenzie's Asia Pacific Chair Michael Wong said: "We are very pleased for our various teams to be recognised at these inaugural Legal 500 South East Asia Awards, which builds on our multiple wins this past April at the Chambers Asia Pacific Awards 2021. I would like to congratulate our people in the respective member firms and teams who have continued to demonstrate why clients in Southeast Asia instruct us on such a wide variety of complex, landmark transactions that have driven the momentum of the region's fast-growth companies, many with their eye firmly set on international expansion."

The Legal 500 Southeast Asia Awards
recognises both Asia Pacific-based private practice law firms and in-house legal teams by taking a holistic look at key players in each Southeast Asia jurisdiction. Law Firms of the Year are awarded based on criteria such as their individual practices, star individuals, recent performance, and overall growth. Practice categories were judged based on demonstration of full spectrum of services and the ability to manage complex transactions.
