Baker McKenzie, the global legal Firm was recognized among Mexico’s responsible companies by the annual ranking carried out by business magazine Expansión and the Schulich School of Business. This ranking evaluates a company and its actions in three main areas: economic management, environmental and social impact. The Firm has been a constant participant in this initiative, thanks to its global sustainability and a robust local action in the matter.

According to this year’s ranking, responsible companies rely on their employees the most in terms of carrying out social responsibility efforts, as 29% of them mentioned that they are the most important partner in this regard. They also mentioned that their corporate responsibility efforts include matters such as community outreach, the environment, work-life balance for their employees as well as gender equality, these last two topics are ever-present in the Firm’s strategy.

The Firm stands out as one of the organizations in the professional services sector to be recognized for its strong corporate social responsibility practices, for a fourth consecutive year. In that regard, Miriam Villafaña, CSR Director at the Firm, mentioned "This is a recognition to our daily work and our commitment to values such as equality, fairness and sustainability. We are proud of the work we have done so far but I also believe that this is a continuous and constantly evolving effort, that needs to be reinforced constantly."
