Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie has been selected to join the UK Government's first Post-Brexit trade panel. The appointment comes after the UK signed a deal governing its future relationship with the European Union at the end of 2020.
Now an independent WTO Member and responsible for its own litigation before the WTO Dispute Settlement Body, the UK Government trade law panel (TLP) will play an important role advising the government on trade matters. As part of the TLP, Baker McKenzie will provide advice on World Trade Organisation (WTO) and trade agreement disputes.
Commenting on the appointment, Baker McKenzie's head of EMEA International Commercial and Trade, Sunny Mann said, “We are delighted to have been appointed to the UK Government's inaugural panel on WTO disputes and I look forward to supporting the UK Government alongside fellow partners Pablo Bentes, who brings more than 15 years of experience in WTO dispute settlement, and Jenny Revis, head of Baker McKenzie’s Brexit Taskforce.”
