Claudia Fochtmann-Tischler joins Baker McKenzie's Corporate / M&A practice as counsel, effective June 1, 2021. The corporate law expert moves from Binder Grösswang to Baker McKenzie's Vienna office.
Fochtmann-Tischler (33) started her career in 2007 in the legal department at Pfizer Corporation Austria GmbH in Vienna. In 2011, she joined Binder Grösswang as an associate in the Corporate / M&A practice group; since 2015, she is admitted to the bar and worked as an attorney at law at Binder Grösswang. In 2013, Claudia Fochtmann-Tischler spent a secondment as in-house counsel in the legal department of Lenzing AG. Fochtmann-Tischler studied law at the University of Vienna.
Claudia Fochtmann-Tischler has extensive and long-standing expertise in advising national and international clients in M&A transactions and complex national and cross-border restructurings. In addition, she advises national and international clients on all aspects of corporate and company law, joint venture transactions and spin-offs and is also advising at the interface with banking supervisory law.
More recently, Fochtmann-Tischler has, inter alia, advised a heterogeneous group of sellers on the sale of 100% of the shares in an investment company as well as an Austrian bank on a complex carve-out and cross-border merger with a payment service provider based in another EU country.
