Learn about our Pacific Alliance initiative
Global law firm Baker McKenzie announced today that 75 incoming 2021 summer associates and interns start today in North America. Our summer associates in the US come from 32 law schools, 55% are women, 53% are people of color, 11% are LGBTQ+, and 2% are Military Veteran. They speak a combined total of eight languages.
We are very pleased that 10 of our summer associates will be seconded to our key clients through our Inclusion & Diversity Client Summer Scholars Program, where they will have the opportunity to gain valuable exposure to in-house legal work, while also connecting with top lawyers across the industry. In addition, three of our summer associates have been awarded our Diversity Fellowship, which is given to second-year law students committed to contributing meaningfully to the diversity of the legal community.
Throughout the program, our summer associates will have opportunities for virtual skills-based training, pro bono projects, team-building events, substantive legal assignments, and of course networking events. We look forward to providing a robust and intellectually challenging summer experience for the entire group.
