Baker McKenzie is advising Aurora Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company, in a de-SPAC transaction to transform Better, one of the fastest-growing digital homeownership companies in the US, into a publicly traded company. This follows Baker's advising in the formation and initial public offering of Aurora in March 2021.

Upon closing of the transaction, the combined company will operate under the Better name. The transaction, which includes a USD 1.5 billion commitment from Softbank to purchase equity in Aurora, reflects an implied equity value for Better of approximately USD 6.9 billion and a post-money transaction value of approximately USD 7.7 billion.
