Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie has hired Moussa Louizi and Hugo van der Molen as partner and legal director. Both join from Clifford Chance and will grow the Firm’s Banking & Finance practice in Amsterdam.

"The already sophisticated Dutch structured finance market is expected to grow further as these deals play a bigger part in the funding strategies for Dutch banks and corporates, with the volume of synthetic structures also expected to increase significantly in 2021", said Corinne Schot, Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie’s Amsterdam office. “Moussa and Hugo bring great knowledge and experience in securitization and debt capital markets and will help our clients as they evolve their funding strategies with more structured transactions.”

Both are looking forward to taking up new professional challenges at Baker McKenzie. Louizi commented: “Baker McKenzie has an enviable global platform for providing the very best integrated legal advice to the world's leading financial investors. The growth objectives and entrepreneurship of the practice are closely aligned with my ambitions, so I am very excited taking on this challenge at one of the largest law firms in the world and bolster the existing structured finance and debt capital markets capabilities.” Van der Molen added: “Baker McKenzie is a first-class firm of international standing with a truly excellent Banking and Finance practice. I am happy and excited that I can contribute to the existing success and help expand the local debt capital markets and structured finance practices.”
