• The award by the Internet MX Association recognizes best practices in building and executing digital campaigns.

Global law firm Baker McKenzie was recognized by the Internet MX Association (AIMX) for the design and implementation of the Automated Complaint Guidance System, a tool to empower digital consumers during the Buen Fin, Mexico’s Black Friday, providing accurate information related to legal issues that can occur when purchasing goods online. The recognition for best practices in building and implementing digital campaigns was given during the AIMX annual awards ceremony, which also celebrated the 20th anniversary of the AIMX.

"We are proud of this award and our collaboration with AIMX in the design of innovative tools aimed at the consumer. We look forward to continuing our work on legal tech solutions for our clients," said Carlos Vela Treviño, Lead Partner of the Firm's Information Technology and Communications Practice; who worked hand in hand with Manuel Godoy Luque, Carolina Mejía, Carlos Dávila, Ian Gordon and Birgit Clark, all part of the Knowledge/IP Tech practice group at Baker McKenzie.

Annually, the Internet MX Association receives about 150 requests from internet users for assistance when they are victims of a cybercrime. Baker McKenzie, using digital transformation and design thinking methodologies, used its global innovation program called Reinvent to develop a solution that addressed the Mexican market specifically, and one that empowers the consumer and aligns with the needs of the Internet MX Association.

This year, the firm renewed its innovation program, which brings together change initiatives in support of better results for its clients. Another example of the Firm's digital programs is Spark Beyond, an artificial intelligence-driven problem-solving technology that predicts the services clients will require from law firms, the invisible drivers of client need, and how the firm might evolve its business to meet those needs.

For the firm, this award demonstrates our commitment and leadership in embracing new technologies to meet our clients’ needs ; as well as being part of the conversation about digitalization and innovation, which reflects the firm’s strategy around this topic.
