Deyanira Flores Garza participated as President of the Evaluation Committee for the Certification of the Police of the municipality of San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León. In this way, said police became the first state police to be certified by the Institute for Security and Democracy, A.C. (INSYDE) and a citizen committee.

After participating in a public call to join the Committee, Deyanira applied as a citizen and as a specialist by Baker McKenzie. Subsequently, the resolution and election of six citizens of the municipality, as well as two national specialists, was made public.

In that regard, after in-depth training and a thorough process to review 57 standards, for example in recruitment and selection policies and procedures on several topics, such as organization and professional development; professional performance; infrastructure and equipment; in addition to crime prevention and roads and traffic, knowledge tests were applied to the corporation's personnel, to conclude the process, deciding unanimously to grant the certification.

At the end of October, the Mayor of the municipality, Miguel Treviño; the Secretary of Public Security, Gerardo Escamilla; and the Director of INSYDE, Laura Díaz de Leon, as well as Deyanira Flores as president of the Committee, participated in the formal ceremony in which the certification and the corresponding plaque were awarded.
