The ranking evaluated three key criteria, pay equity, environmental commitment and workforce management.
International law firm Baker McKenzie was recognized among the most responsible companies by the annual ranking published by leading a leading Mexican business publication, Expansión Magazine and the Schulich School of Business for the third consecutive year. The Firm earned that ranking based on its robust CSR strategy and impact on economic, social and environmental issues. Recognition in the Ranking of Responsible Companies reaffirms the relevance and results of the strategy implemented in Mexico.
"In recent years, we have developed a CSR strategy which is based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to ensure that we are taking into account the many ways in which we can have an impact. I would attribute a large part of our success to our ability to collaborate across a wide range of key issues and collaborate with very diverse stakeholders. This approach has served as a catalyst to build meaningful initiatives that have a lasting impact," mentioned Raymundo Enríquez, Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie in Mexico.
Miriam Villafaña, CSR Director at the Firm, added, "internally, we understand social responsibility as a vision that must permeate all areas of the organization, aligning processes and operations to the general objective, and to determine the focus and vision for the future."
This ranking comes on the heels of Baker McKenzie's announcement that the Firm will join the local network of the United Nations Global Compact organizations. For more information about our commitment to Global Sustainability, view our 2020 report here.
