Baker McKenzie advised a subsidiary of Grupo ISA, Interconectado Eléctrica ISA Perú, in the acquisition of Peruvian energy transport company Orazul Energy Group from Inkia Energy for USD 158.5 Million.
Orazul Energy Group owns Etenorte and Eteselva, which operate six transmission lines that cover 746 kilometers in Peru. The 746 kilometers of line circuit at 220 and 138 kV represent 2.4% of the income of the Peruvian power transmission market, which will raise ISA Group's market share to 73% and make it the largest transporter of energy in that country.
Baker McKenzie's cross-border team from Lima and New York advised on the transaction. The M&A team was led by Liliana Espinosa, Inés Vázquez and Uldarico Ossio in Lima and Nicholas Marchica and Jonathan Farrokhnia in New York. The finance team was led by Marco Alarcón and Uldarico Ossio in Lima and Andrew Sagor, Amit Parekh and Ava Haghighi in New York.
