Baker McKenzie assisted Gi Group, an Italian multinational service provider dedicated to the development of the labor market and present in more than 50 countries through direct presence and partnership, in the acquisition of the controlling stake in Work Service, a company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and active in Poland and in the countries of Central Europe in the sector of human resources services.

On the basis of the agreement signed, Gi Group has acquired a controlling stake in Work Service and has undertaken to provide it with significant financial resources, allowing Work Service to completely stabilize its financial situation in the coming months and to return to the growth and development of its business.

The transaction was subject, among other things, to obtaining the required authorizations from the antitrust authorities in the countries where the target operates, including Poland, Germany, Romania and Serbia. Furthermore, following the acquisition of the majority stake, Gi Group will also proceed with the launch of a takeover bid for a part of the flee float, in compliance with the provisions in force in Poland.
