Veleka Peeples-Dyer short-listed for FDA Attorney of the Year; Khelin Aiken for FDA Rising Star; Baker McKenzie as FDA Firm to Watch

Global law firm Baker McKenzie has been shortlisted in three categories for the annual Americas LMG Life Sciences Awards, which recognize the individuals and companies behind the most innovative and challenging Life Sciences work of the past year.

Veleka Peeples-Dyer, Chair of Baker McKenzie's North America Food and Drug Administration Practice, has been short-listed for FDA Attorney of the Year. Veleka focuses her practice on assisting clients with regulatory, compliance and enforcement matters for FDA-regulated products, including food, cosmetics, drugs and medical devices. She represents clients in research, pre-launch, launch, commercialization and licensing activities for first-in-class products and other innovative products. Veleka was recognized in 2018 and 2019 by LMG as a Life Sciences Star in the FDA Regulatory category.

Khelin Aiken, a partner in Baker McKenzie's North America FDA Practice, has been short-listed for the FDA Rising Star Award. Khelin leverages her deep understanding of the US Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, US Public Health Service Act and their implementing regulations along with her prior experience at the FDA to help clients develop and achieve their strategic business objectives.

Baker McKenzie was also short-listed as an FDA Firm to Watch. In 2019, Baker McKenzie was recognized as the Firm to Watch in the Financial & Corporate category.

Shortlisted firms and individuals for the LMG Life Sciences Awards are selected following a nomination process and based on interviews and surveys of lawyers active in the Life Sciences sector. The winners will be announced on September 23 via livestream video.
