Baker McKenzie senior associate Rocio Guadalupe Mendoza was selected by the Institute for Energy Law for the 2020-2021 Leadership Class. Energy professionals are chosen by committee to participate in the prestigious program to increase knowledge of the energy industry, leadership, communication, diversity and careers. This year's class includes 42 individuals from 10 different states and India.
The Institute for Energy Law is a division of The Center for American and International Law. Founded in Texas in 1947, IEL provides educational and professional opportunities for lawyers and other professionals in the energy industry with courses, conferences, publications and member activities.
As member Baker McKenzie's Energy Transactions Practice, Rocio advises clients on domestic and international energy-related transactions and projects, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and project development, as well as energy-related commercial matters.
Rocio is member of IEL's Young Energy Professional's group and serves on the Advisory Board. She is deeply committed to promoting educational opportunities for minorities and increasing diversity in the legal profession, and in particular in the energy industry. For the last several years, Rocio has served on the executive board for KIPP Houston Public Schools, Board of Directors and Membership Committee chair for the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston, and was recently selected to participate in the Center for Houston’s Future Business/Civic Leadership Forum.
