For the third consecutive year, leading global law firm Baker McKenzie has been ranked Top 10 in the World for International Arbitration by Global Arbitration Review (GAR), the world's leading source of commercial arbitration news.
The GAR 30 ranking was revealed during the 10th annual GAR Awards ceremony, which took place virtually for the first time as a result of the COVID-19 situation. As in previous years, the GAR 30 ranked firms primarily on the number of arbitral hearings conducted over a two-year period. Factors contributing to a high “score” include the amount in dispute in those cases and the number of arbitrator appointments received by firm members.
Commenting on this achievement, Baker McKenzie's acting Chair of the Global International Arbitration practice, Nandakumar Ponniya has said, “This is a great achievement, and is a testament to the enduring strength of this group. The GAR rankings are one of, if not the most prestigious and important rankings in the international arbitration world, and it is a credit to my colleagues across Baker McKenzie to be able to say we are a top 10 firm.”
With over 350 arbitration practitioners in key emerging markets and major financial and arbitration centers worldwide, Baker McKenzie’s International Arbitration practice is one of the largest, busiest and most ranked arbitration teams in the world. The Firm is already on the ground when disputes arise, providing easy access and cost savings, backed by the strength and resources of a global law firm.
