A cross border team of lawyers from leading global law firm, Baker McKenzie, advised Architonic - the foremost curated products database globally- on its acquisition of ArchDaily. The transaction closed on April 30 2020. Architonic, founded in 2003 and acquired by NZZ Media Group in 2015, is the leading online platform globally for manufacturers, specialist retailers, and architects in the premium segment.

The acquisition allows the two leading online platforms to strategically consolidate their market positions and cross-leverage their expertise. Together, they will inform over 180 million visitors a year - over 30 times the total number of architects and interior designers worldwide. Archdaily.com and architonic.com provide professionals with one-stop, curated information resources that support them in acquiring new knowledge to achieve better architectural outcomes.

Alexa ranks ArchDaily in the top 1,000 most-visited websites globally. The company has more than 600,000 daily readers and 2 billion page views per year, making it the world's largest architectural platform.

"Our coming together as one international organisation means we can bundle our joint expertise and experience, and leverage it to develop and grow further our two sister platforms individually," says Stephan Bachmann, CEO of Architonic.

ArchDaily was founded in 2008 and provides architects with inspiration, knowledge and tools for their work. The company is currently active in the USA, China, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico. The ArchDaily website can be reached here.

Architonic was founded in 2003 and is now the leading architecture online platform in the premium segment. The NZZ Media Group has held a majority stake in Architonic since 2015; in early 2020, it took over the founders' remaining stake in Architonic. The Architonic website can be reached here.
