Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie advised Egmont Publishing on the disposal of Egmont Books UK Ltd. and Egmont’s book business in Poland together with Schneiderbuch in Germany to Harper Collins. The deal will enable Egmont to focus even more on magazines and comics combined with boosting ecommerce and marketing services. Egmont will retain its children’s book business in the Nordics and CEE.
Egmont is a market-leading kids’ publisher and is behind a wide range of popular magazine titles and books. Egmont UK’s exceptional books list which transferred to Harper Collins included iconic names such as Winnie-the-Pooh, Thomas the Tank Engine, Tintin and Mr Men.
