Baker McKenzie has added leading transactional lawyer John L. Murphy as a partner, bringing more than 20 years of experience advising on international project development and financings, capital markets transactions and mergers and acquisitions. John joins the Firm from DLA Piper.

Based in Miami, John counsels developers, investors, project sponsors, private sector banks, and multilateral and bilateral public sector development financial institutions in the development and financing of power and infrastructure projects, including public-private partnerships. "Known for his business acumen and client service, John brings a practical approach when advising on complex, cross-border transactions, particularly those involving Latin America. We look forward to adding him to our team,” said Alan Zoccolillo, Chair of the Firm's North America Corporate & Securities Practice.

The Firm’s practitioners provide cross-market insights for clients doing business in the Americas and beyond.

"We have seen a vast amount of interest from our clients and the legal market since announcing the expansion of our US-based Latin American practice. We are excited to have John join the Firm as we continue our rapid growth with highly talented Miami-based attorneys. John will be key to our growth strategy, providing multinational clients top quality service on cross-border legal issues," said Scott Brandman, Managing Partner of the Firm's New York and Miami offices.
