Baker McKenzie acted as lead legal adviser to Arcus Infrastructure Partners, an independent fund manager with extensive experience in European infrastructure investments, on its acquisition of a significant interest in Stockhabo B.V. a leading provider of cold storage and logistics to major food businesses in Belgium and across Europe.

The acquisition, in partnership with Stockhabo's founding Haspeslagh family, will combine Stockhabo’s track record in the cold storage and logistics sector with the investment expertise and broader European cold chain network of Arcus, which is held under the Constellation Cold Logistics platform. This acquisition is the latest mandate on which Arcus has turned to Baker McKenzie for advice and fits well with the Firm's corporate and real estate offering in Belgium.

Baker McKenzie’s team was led by Corporate Partner, Dominique Maes, and included Real Estate Partner, Jean-Francois Vandenberghe, and Senior Corporate Associate Kim Stas.

Commenting on the deal, Baker McKenzie’s Arcus relationship partner, James Burdett (London) said, “We are delighted to have assisted Arcus Infrastructure Partners on this significant investment; this follows other mandates on which we have partnered with them, including the acquisition of fibre network operator, Swiss4net in 2018.” Dominique Maes added: "We are honoured to have advised Arcus on this strategic acquisition and grateful for the intense teamwork with the Arcus deal team."

Toby Smith, Arcus General Counsel commented, "We are very pleased with the outcome of this investment and grateful for the excellent work of Dominique and his team in helping us to secure the deal."

The deal was announced by Arcus and Stockhabo on 28 January 2020, and the release can be found on the following site:
