The Kyiv office of Baker McKenzie acted as lead legal counsel to Remington Seeds, one of the largest seed producer in the world, with respect to a strategic agreement with MAIS to purchase its seed plant and farming operations in Ukraine.
Thanks to this transaction, Remington Seeds will enter the Ukrainian market for the first time. The joint venture with more than 5 thousand hectares of irrigated agricultural land and one of the most modern seed plants in Eastern Europe, based in the heart of the black soil production area in Ukraine, will be providing a full scope of services to its international and local clients for the production of high quality seeds in Ukraine.
Baker McKenzie's team was led by Kyiv office Partners Oksana Simonova and Viacheslav Yakymchuk, with key input from corporate associate Alyona Furda and antitrust associate Olga Mikheieva. The team also included Olena Naida, Nataliya Tyschenko, Elmaz Abkhairova, Ganna Smyrnova, and Uliana Lutchyn from the Kyiv office.
