Baker McKenzie announced today that Sarah Helfers has joined the Chicago office as Counsel in the Corporate & Securities Group, bringing to the Firm a unique skillset as a corporate practitioner with a complementary background in tax.

Sarah's practice focuses on managing the corporate implementation of complex domestic and cross-border intercompany transactions. She has also guided U.S.-based multinationals through international tax planning for post-acquisition integrations, pre-spin business separations and other cross-border transactions.

"We continue to be laser focused on building our transactional strength in North America, and Sarah’s expertise in cross-border corporate transactions is a key offering to clients. We’re excited to welcome Sarah back to the Firm,” said Alan Zoccolillo, Chair of the North American Corporate and Securities practice.

Sarah earned her B.A. from Amherst College and her J.D. from Loyola University, and started her career as an attorney at the Internal Revenue Service's Office of Chief Counsel. In 2008, Sarah joined Baker McKenzie as a corporate associate before switching to the Tax Practice Group in 2015. In March of 2018, Sarah joined Morgan Lewis & Bockius.

"I’m excited to join Baker McKenzie’s team, and I look forward to working with my new colleagues as we grow our cross-border transactional practice," said Sarah.
