The Firm has won Asia Pacific Trademarks Firm of the Year every year since the Asia IP Awards started in 2010
Baker McKenzie won five awards at the 2019 Asia IP Awards recently held in Taipei, including Asia Pacific Trademarks Firm of the Year. The Firm has once again dominated the event, with more wins than any other law firm in the region.
The Firm was also awarded Trademarks Firm of the Year for China (International Firms) and Vietnam. Its Indonesian member Firm, HHP Law Firm, won Trademarks Firm of the Year, while Singapore member firm, Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow picked up Copyright Firm of the Year.
“The days of using a far-off law firm to do your work in Asia are mostly in the past,” said Asia IP managing editor Gregory Glass. “In-house counsel increasingly turn to Asia- and Pacific-based law firms because they know that those firms are consistently doing high quality work.”
"These awards are a testament to the expanse and quality of our IP practice across the region. We are very pleased to see that our efforts in providing our clients with an integrated IP service that draws on the strengths of our IP teams across Asia has been recognized," Say Sujintaya, Asia Pacific chair of Baker McKenzie's IP practice, said. "We would like to thank our clients for acknowledging our efforts and also Asia IP for this recognition."
The Asia IP Awards, which recognize law firms' outstanding achievements in patents, trademarks and copyright across Asia Pacific, are based on the votes of more than 5,000 in-house counsel in Asia, Europe and the Americas.
