Another top-level lawyer joins the Vienna office of Baker McKenzie: In October, attorney-at-law Robert Wippel (33), has joined the banking and finance team headed by Georg Diwok as counsel specializing in banking and credit law.
Before joining Baker McKenzie, he worked as lawyer for the law firm Binder Grösswang for five years, most recently in the position of a counsel. He spent his term as a Junior Associate with the law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Robert Wippel advises high-profile companies and banks in complex transactions and has comprehensive experience in cross-border financing transactions.
At Baker McKenzie, Robert Wippel will keep his previous focus and will advise national and international clients on all forms of financing transactions, such as company financing, acquisition financing, real estate and project financing. At the same time, he will strengthen the banking and finance team by adding his regulatory and insolvency law expertise and will contribute to the further development of the securitization practice.
Robert Wippel studied law in Vienna, St. Gallen and at the Max-Planck-Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, Hamburg. In 2012, he obtained a PhD with a dissertation on loan securitization and insolvency law."Without doubt, Robert Wippel is one of the 'rising stars' in Austrian banking law. We are very pleased that he contributes to the further growth of our Vienna office", comments Georg Diwok.
