Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie took home eight awards at Euromoney's European Women in Business law 2019 awards last night, including overall Best International Firm for Women in Business Law for the third year running.
The awards, which took place at the Savoy Hotel in London, recognize individual lawyers at the top of their chosen fields, and firms that have shown outstanding commitment to the development of women in the legal profession.
Other awards won by Baker McKenzie were:
- Most innovative international firm
- Best international firm for minority women lawyers
- Best in UK (international firm)
- Best in Netherlands (international firm)
- Best in corporate governance - Joanna Hewitt
- Best in technology, media & communications - Sue McLean
- Special recognition award - Paul Rawlinson
Speaking after the ceremony, Baker McKenzie's Global Chair of Diversity & Inclusion, Constanze Ulmer-Eilfort, said, "I am so proud of the work our firm does to champion women in the workplace and these awards reflect our continued commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in both at Baker McKenzie and in the legal profession. Accepting Paul Rawlinson's award for his work in championing women in the workplace, London partner Samantha Mobley said, "An inspirational role model, Paul demonstrated inclusive and transparent leadership and enthusiastically advocated for colleagues at all levels. He wasn't afraid of challenging the status quo. Paul championed gender equality throughout his career and I am really delighted that Euromoney has honoured him in this way."
