Baker McKenzie has successfully acted for multinational security services group Securitas on its acquisition of the Staysafe security electronic monitoring business.

Baker McKenzie lead lawyer on the transaction, Lawrence Mendes stated: "This transaction continues our client, Securitas' growth trajectory in further becoming a leader in the global security market. The complimentary Staysafe business will provide an expanded local platform in Australia."

Securitas successfully integrates technology, people and knowledge to offer protective services to customers all over the world. The company employs more than 345,000 people in 59 markets. The Securitas share has been listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, now Nasdaq Stockholm, since 1991.

Staysafe is the one of the largest security systems electronic monitoring businesses in Australia and has 28,000 monitoring connections managed through two grade A1 monitoring centres located in Melbourne, Victoria and Adelaide in South Australia.
