For the 10th consecutive year, Baker McKenzie has received a perfect score on the Corporate Equality Index, the premier benchmarking survey and report in the US on corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Baker McKenzie joins more than 560 major US businesses that also earned top marks this year.

“We are extremely honored to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign again this year," said Colin Murray, the Firm's North American Chief Executive Officer. "Having a diverse and inclusive workplace is an important priority for our Firm, with policies and practices that support all of our people. And while we are pleased with the progress we have made, we know there is more work to do. We share this honor with many of our clients and peers as we continue advancing workplace equality in the legal community and beyond.

The 2019 Corporate Equality Index evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. Baker McKenzie's efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria resulted in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a "Best Place to Work" for LGBTQ Equality.

"The top-scoring companies on this year’s equality index are not only establishing policies that affirm and include employees here in the United States, they also are applying these policies to their global operations and impacting millions of people beyond our shores,” said HRC President Chad Griffin. “Many of these companies have also become vocal advocates for equality in the public square. Time and again, leading American businesses have shown that protecting their employees and customers from discrimination isn’t just the right thing to do -- it’s also good for business.”

Baker McKenzie was also recently ranked among the top 10 most LGBTQ-friendly employers in the UK on Stonewall's Workplace Equality Index, a national benchmark showcasing Britain’s top employers for LGBTQ staff.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is the educational arm of America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for LGBTQ people.
