Baker McKenzie and its member firms took home five awards, including the "Tax & Trusts Law Firm of the Year" and "Medical and Healthcare Law Firm of the Year" awards, at the Asian Legal Business (ALB) Southeast Asia Law Awards held in Singapore on 11 April.
The Firm won two deal awards, namely the:
"Equity Market Deal of the Year (Premium)" award for the Thailand Future Fund's establishment and IPO, where capital market teams from the Firm's Bangkok and Singapore member firms had worked on it jointly; and
"Debt Market Deal of the Year (Midsize)" awards for MedcoEnergi's secured RBL facility, which was led by the banking and finance team from the Jakarta member firm, Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners (HHP Law Firm).
For the individual award category, Kuala Lumpur partner Kherk Ying Chew won the "Woman Lawyer of the Year (Law Firm)" award. Kherk Ying had won the same award at the ALB Malaysia Law Awards 2019 which were held on 28 March in Kuala Lumpur.
