Baker McKenzie has added transactional lawyer Scott L. D'Angelo as Counsel in Chicago.
Scott joins Baker McKenzie's North America International Commercial practice, bringing more than 20 years of experience acting as a trusted advisor to his clients, helping them define business strategies, solve complex legal issues and manage a broad range of sophisticated business transactions in the US, Europe and Asia.
Scott spent 12 years as a member of McDonald's Corp.'s Legal Department, where he served in a variety of different roles of increasing responsibility, including general counsel for McDonald's US central and east divisions and its Asia, Pacific, Middle East and Africa business unit. In each such role, Scott was a key member of the senior leadership team, providing strategic guidance on complex cross-border business transactions, international franchise and distribution matters and regulatory compliance and corporate governance issues. Most recently, Scott served as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Fortune Brands Home & Security Inc. In his multi-faceted role with Fortune, Scott acted as primary counsel to Fortune's Global M&A and Strategy function, general counsel for its Global Plumbing Group and was responsible for managing all aspects of the company's global compliance function.
