Baker McKenzie has added highly regarded Labor & Employment Counsel Maureen Duffy to its North America Employment & Compensation Practice in San Francisco who will focus on a wide array of employment counseling services.


As a senior employment law attorney, Maureen brings significant experience providing both U.S. domestic and international advice and counsel to all levels of management involving a full range of labor and employment matters. These matters have included redundancies, international mobility, reorganizations, disciplinary measures, terminations, recruiting, restrictive covenants and trade secrets, disability and reasonable accommodations, FMLA, ADA and other leaves of absence, FSLA, Title VII, defamation, and data privacy.

Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Maureen was of counsel at Jackson Lewis and has worked at several other national and international firms, as well as in-house for Fortune 50, hi-tech and financial services companies. Maureen previously practiced at Baker McKenzie as a senior associate in the late 1990’s.


Baker McKenzie has added more than 40 partners in North America over the last two years, as it continues to expand its presence in key markets and practice areas. Maureen follows the recent arrival of key employment litigators Mike Leggieri and Billie Wenter (San Francisco), Robin Samuel (Los Angeles), Michael Brewer (San Francisco), Meredith Kaufman (New York), Todd Boyer (Palo Alto) and Bill Dugan (Chicago).

Maureen received her B.A. from the University of Iowa, her M.F.A. from Bennington College, and her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
