Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie has advised Fundamenta on the establishment and launch of a new investment foundation.
The Fundamenta Group Investment Foundation has received approval from the relevant supervisory authority (Occupational Pension Supervisory Commission OPSC) and plans to raise capital in the second quarter of 2019. With the launch of the investment foundation, its investment group "Swiss Real Estate" will invest in a sustainable mixed real estate portfolio with residential properties, commercial properties and development projects.
The Fundamenta Group is an independent Swiss asset manager focusing on real estate. With an interdisciplinary team of approximately 50 proven specialists in Switzerland and companies operating in Germany, the Group ensures customer competence throughout the entire investment cycle (investment, management, transformation, divestment). The investment strategy pursued by the Fundamenta Group in Switzerland and in property assets under management in Germany amounted to CHF 1.7 billion in 2018.
Baker McKenzie provided comprehensive advice to Fundamenta with regard to all legal aspects of the establishment of the investment foundation including all negotiations and dealings with the supervisory authority.
