Baker McKenzie has advised the German group SAP, world leader in software for businesses, on the acquisition of the French company Contextor, which specializes in robotic process automation. 

Robotic process automation will enable SAP to simplify user interface interactions across SAP and non-SAP applications. Contextor’s RPA will help deliver the intelligent RPA that SAP plans to include in its principal solutions.

In January 2018, SAP already completed the acquisition of a French conversational AI start-up,, thus completing its machine learning offering.

Baker McKenzie advised SAP with a team including Stéphane Davin, partner, Hugo Sanchez de la Espada, partner, as well as Paul Nury, associate. Rémy Bricard, partner, Marie-Catherine Ducharme and Bérénice de Wailly, associates, worked on IT aspects, while Michelle Blunt, partner in London, and Emilie Gras, associate, consulted on IP aspects. Jérémie Paubel, partner, and Vanessa Chaillan, associate, worked on labour law aspects and Céline Gronier, associate, was consulted on the real estate aspects of the transaction.
