For the first time in Mexico, Baker McKenzie participated on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation 2019 "Equidad MX" Index, and placing it among the 69 leading employers in LGBT+ inclusion in Mexico, according to the second edition of the HRC Equidad MX Index.
The HRC Equidad MX 2019 report evaluates the policies and practices related to the inclusion of LGBT+ members in the workplace. Baker McKenzie received a perfect score for all the rating criteria that includes having anti-discrimination policies; the existence of internal diversity and inclusion committees and employee resource groups; as well as the public commitment of the company with society and engagement with the LGBT+ community.
This certification is a key piece in the initiatives that the Firm has developed in terms of diversity and inclusion and as part of its CSR strategy. Over the past year, Baker McKenzie has carried-out several activities in the way to consolidate a more inclusive culture towards the LGBT+ community. In addition to having global policies, since January the Firm joined many of its clients in Pride Connection Mexico (network of organizations that came together to share best practices for LGBT+ talent ) and last June, Baker McKenzie was the first and only law firm that participated in Mexico City's Pride Parade.
