Baker McKenzie is pleased to announce Corinne Schot as the Firm's next Managing Partner for the Netherlands. Schot succeeds Folkert Idsinga, who will continue his active Tax practice in Amsterdam.

“Baker McKenzie has been in the Netherlands since 1957 and is not only one of the world’s largest law firms, but also the first truly global law firm,” Corinne said. “We have a rich history and I am confident that the great mix of independent minds, creativity, commitment and entrepreneurship in the Amsterdam office will lead to an even more exciting future. I’m very thankful for Folkert’s leadership thus far and excited to be elected as the Firm’s first female Managing Partner in the Netherlands. It’s an honor to help navigate the Firm and our clients through the complexities of today’s business world.”

Corinne joined Baker McKenzie Amsterdam as a partner in 2011. She was elected to the Amsterdam Board in 2014 and led the Banking & Finance Practice Group until 2015. Under her leadership, the practice doubled in size and extended and integrated its services. She is the head of the EMEA Financial Services Regulatory Group and a member of the Global Financial Committee. Corinne is an expert in derivatives, structured finance, fintech and international financial regulation. Her clients include major international financial institutions, (fin)tech companies, multinational companies, (pension) funds, insurance companies and public bodies.

Corinne is also a member of the Baker McKenzie Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Committee. She chairs the Amsterdam D&I working group and has an influential role within the firm's LGBTQ network, both locally and internationally. Corinne lives in Amsterdam with her wife and their daughter.

“Corinne has excellent credentials to be our Managing Partner in Amsterdam. She has built a very strong reputation as a derivatives lawyer and is greatly respected by our clients,” said Fiona Carlin, EMEA+ Chief Executive. “I look forward to continue working with her in the EMEA region as part of our core leadership team.”

Corinne graduated from the Rotterdam Erasmus University with Master degrees in Business Law and Private Law (1997) as well as Tax Law (1999).
