Luis F. Gomar has joined Baker McKenzie as a Partner in the North America Corporate & Securities Practice, bringing more than a decade of experience advising on cross-border transactions in the energy and finance sectors.
Based in Houston, Luis counsels clients on both domestic and international transactions involving divestitures, financing, fund formations, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions. He regularly advises energy companies on contracts, formation and structure planning.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Luis has significant experience representing clients on investment and expansion opportunities in the United States and throughout Latin America. At his previous firm, Luis served as the lead partner for the Mexico City office.

Luis received his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law and his B.B.A. from the University of Texas at El Paso. He is licensed to practice in Texas.
Baker McKenzie has added more than 40 partners in North America over the last two years, as it continues to expand its presence in key markets and practice areas. Luis joining the Firm follows the recent arrival of employment litigators Mike Leggieri and Billie Wenter (San Francisco), private equity lawyer Jonathan Temps (Chicago) and corporate lawyer Claudia Poernig (New York).
