Baker McKenzie acted as lead legal advisor for Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), one of the world’s largest agricultural processors and food ingredient providers, in connection with its €1.5 Billion proposed acquisition of French headquartered Neovia, a global provider of value-added animal nutrition solutions. The deal marks another major milestone in the execution of ADM's strategic plan and portfolio transformation by bringing geographic expansion on three continents as well as state-of-the-art innovation capabilities and a diversified product portfolio to ADM. Under French law, the signing of an acquisition agreement is contingent upon informing and consulting with relevant employee representative bodies. Subject to that process and regulatory approvals, the acquisition is expected to close by the fourth quarter.

The Baker McKenzie team advising ADM was led by French corporate partners Matthieu Grollemund and Hugo Sanchez De La Espada with support from Chicago corporate partner, Olivia Tyrrell, and included additional corporate attorneys Diane Kisler, Gautier Valdiguie, Piotr Korzynski and Aria Eckersley; tax attorneys Guillaume Le Camus and Charles Baudoin; and antitrust attorneys Samantha Mobley, Joost Haans and Sophia Real.
