Baker McKenzie has promoted three new partners in the Firm's Geneva office and Stephanie Jarrett has become the managing partner.

The new partners are:

Luca Beffa, a Dispute Resolution practitioner. Mr Beffa has extensive experience in international arbitration matters, regularly acting as counsel and arbitrator. He also handles litigation matters with a particular focus on commercial, banking and M&A transactions.

Olivier Ducrey, a Real Estate lawyer. Mr Ducrey also regularly acts for clients in the sport and entertainment industries. He has twice been seconded to UEFA. Mr. Ducrey is the sole judge of the European Basketball Champions League amongst other judicial and panel appointments in the sports world.

Jingjin Guo, a Corporate and Banking & Finance lawyer. A Mandarin-speaker, Mr Guo has a particular emphasis on investments by greater China entities in Switzerland.

They join existing partners Stephanie Jarrett, a leading trusts, estates and UK tax planning lawyer, who is also the new Managing Partner of the office; Hubert Orso Gilliéron, a corporate partner who leads the local antitrust practice and who, with Mr Guo, will lead the transactions practices in the future; and Denis Berdoz, who leads the Swiss tax practice.

"Clients expect their lawyers to be solution-oriented and collaborative," said Stephanie Jarrett. "It's exciting to bring through a new generation of talent focused on helping our clients reach their strategic goals. This is an increasingly attractive country for international investors from markets such as China for example, while Switzerland continues to evolve as a financial hub. Baker McKenzie is uniquely positioned in this market to help clients seize opportunities and rise to challenges.

Two Geneva-based partners - Martin Anderson and Frédéric Bétrisey - are moving on to another Swiss law firm at the end of July. The Firm thanks them for their contribution over the years.

Operating in Switzerland for more than 50 years, Baker McKenzie is the largest global firm in the Swiss market, with more than 120 lawyers in Geneva and Zurich offering domestic and international clients a premium full service.
