Baker McKenzie is one of the founding sponsors of “ReInvent Law“, the first Legal Innovation Hub in Continental Europe, which is officially opening its doors today, 12th of April in the "Ostend", the creative center, of Frankfurt. Other cooperation partners of "ReInvent" are, among others, Bosch, Daimler, Wolters Kluwer and ZF Friedrichshafen.
Reinvent is a similar project to Baker McKenzie's Whitespace Legal Collab, which was launched in Toronto last year. For Continental Europe Reinvent represents an unprecedented project as a hub for multidisciplinary collaboration, enabling the cooperation between lawyers and corporate leaders as well as academics and representatives from non-profit organizations. It will be a place to meet and to communicate between lawyers and digital experts. In cooperation with Legal Tech startups and higher education institutes, members will develop innovative solutions for challenges in the digital world. New technologies and optimized work processes are a collaborative focus.
"Innovation is a central element of our strategy. Together with ReInvent Law, we are breaking new ground in interdisciplinary collaboration. Legal solutions these days demand a deeper understanding of our clients, their business models and requirements on legal advice. ReInvent Law gives us the opportunity to develop hands-on fresh legal solutions in a collaborative atmosphere. As one of the most important financial hubs in Continental Europe, Frankfurt and its focus on FinTechs offers the perfect environment", comments Matthias Scholz, Managing Partner Baker McKenzie in Germany and Austria, participating in today's inaugural ceremony.
Paul Rawlinson, Global Chair Baker McKenzie, and Hessian Minister of Justice, Eva Kühne-Hörmann, will be speakers at the launch. High-level national and international corporate representatives, academia and political representatives are also expected - amongst others Dr. Sebastian Biedenkopf, General Counsel Robert Bosch GmbH, Dr. Pietro Brambilla, Head of Digital Transformation Integrity & Legal Daimler AG and Dr. Jan Eckert, General Counsel ZF Friedrichshafen AG.
